keychained | 010; [video/action for route 32 outside Union]

[video, glorious video. Sora's finally gotten his 'gear fixed after a week of texting and learning how to make smiley faces with symbols, and although he has to admit the smiley faces are pretty cool, he's much happier to be able to talk to the network face-to-face. sort of face-to-face. he's feeling a lot better, too.]

[so there's a very groggy kid opening up a feed today. it looks like he's just woken up from a fantastic nap, because he has some equally fantastic bedhead: the smaller spikes that usually go every which way are actually almost entirely flattened against his face on one side, and the bigger ones have sort of lost their vaguely coherent shape. it's quite a sight, really, and Sora doesn't seem to realize he has it.]

... Hey. Uh. I got a list of names from everybody who signed up to help with food for the festival from Nurse Joy. If you're still interested, the restaurants in your town would be happy to have you help! And if you were thinking about selling some kind of food from back home at a booth, they've all agreed to let you use their kitchens to make it. You just need to let them know in advance.

-- Oh yeah! Are any of you interested in running booths? If so, what kind?

[Sora pauses here, instinctively rubbing his eyes. as fantastic of a nap that was, he really hasn't been getting enough sleep out here on route 32.]

Ven? Where are you guys? We're just outside Union Cave. And--

[he turns away from the 'gear to address someone off screen. behold, spiky bedhead in all of its majesty!]

[he nods, and pauses to jot down a quick note.]

If you stop by one of the restaurants over there and tell them you want to help with the festival, they'll direct you from there. And if they say there's a height requirement, call me and I'll give 'em a piece of my mind.

[She giggles a little at that.]

Okay. Thank you, Sora! I'll be sure to tell them that!

No problem! We've gotta stick together, right? Riku pokes fun at me for being short all the time.

Right! Some things are a bit hard because I'm short too! Like working as a cashier in the Pokemart.

They at least gave you something to stand on if you needed it, right?

Ahaha... Y-Yeah. But even then, it was kinda hard seeing the top of the register to do some math stuff.

But you still got it done! Size doesn't matter.

Yeah! Besides, short people have an advantage too! Like hiding.

And we can usually run faster!

And we can dodge hits better!

Exactly! Heck, I'd rather stay short than be really tall.

I heard taller people trip more often!

They do! I've seen it in action.

[She laughs at that, being reminded of home.]

Really? Sometimes they wear the wrong kind of shoes. Like those heels! They're this big! [She uses her fingers to gap the distance of maybe... 6 inches.]

Maybe they trained themselves to walk that way!

Why, though? That seems kind of like a weird talent.

Nope. I ran and fought monsters in them too! It actually hurts them more if you kick them!

Uwah! Sora, do you have big feet? Or do they look a lot bigger on the screen? [This is genuine surprise in her tone! Why would she mock him.]

They're not that big, are they?

[... yes, Sora. yes they are. just comes with the territory of being half Disney.]

[so he does-- and although Sora has big hands, too, they've got nothing on his shoes.]
