[well, this all started out innocently enough. after Dapper evolved into a Kakuna following a spectacular Caterpie smashing last week, both Sora and bug have been very eager to see how he turns out as a Beedrill-- so the past five days have been pretty constant training, stoutness exercises included! and now, after having finally gained a few quick levels, tada!! Sora is the proud new trainer of a very large and feisty Beedrill! and Dapper couldn't be happier; now he's finally able to carry out his one big, life-long wish.]

Dapper! Get back here!

[unfortunately, that life-long wish is doorbell ditching. it's the Teddiursa who's turned on the pokégear this time-- the feed displays the larger half of Cherrygrove, and a Beedrill gleefully fluttering to the closest residence, smashing the doorbell repeatedly with his stinger, then shooting up in the air to hover just above the doorway. poor Sora is not far behind, pokéball in an outstretched hand and his expression quite kicked puppy when he's suddenly left to deal with the residents answering the door.]

Hey, kid! Didn't anybody ever tell you you're supposed to hide after ringing the doorbell?

[Sora just barely manages an apology before he has to chase after Dapper again-- the Beedrill is even going into the Pokémart and center, ringing the bells at the front desks, then zooming off for his next victim. those listening to the feed can hear the Teddiursa laughing, despite himself.]

Rise! Hey!

[he's finally managed to squash Dapper back in his pokéball, and sets it down on the ground next to his backpack a few feet behind him-- Sora flops down on the ground, too, scooping up his pokégear.]

Yeah, he's mine-- he just evolved, then completely got away from me. How are you?

[ good to know not all Beedrill are angry stinging attack bugs. Rise can't hold back a grin this time. ]

Bored, but I think you just helped with that. I'm doing a lot better, though!

[ that's what happens when you fall into a well like a bad Lassie parody, Rise. ]

Glad I could help! I heard you got in a fight with a well, so... I'm happy to hear you're doing better.

[that pokéball behind him is wiggling ominously; Dapper hates being stuck in there.]

I'm off my feet for a little while, but I think I came out of that one the winner.

[ Oh, Dapper. But it's so spacious! ]

There's no landmark you can't kick the tar out of, Rise! -- But, don't go trying again anytime soon, okay?

[FURIOUS WIGGLING from the pokéball-- that bee's about to have a limit break.]

Trust me, I'll be keeping my tar-kicking skills away from any and all landmarks-- hm? [ well now she notices that. ]

Good to hear! I'll be-- huh?

[Sora turns away from the camera just in time to see the pokéball break open, and in almost the exact same movement, Dapper fully escapes and zooms over to Sora to properly express his rage at being forced in there. well, Sora was likely going to find out what it feels like to be stung by a Beedrill anyway, why not just 20 minutes after Dapper evolved?]

Sora!? [ oh god but Beedrill stings hurt like a mother-- ]

[Sora's at least aware of that, but Dapper? not so much. luckily, he seems to get the hint and backs off after the first sting, and Sora is left sprawled on the ground, clutching his arm and yelling something fierce. ... okay, so stinging Trainer now is definitely is not as funny as it was as a Weedle.]

Sora-- hey!! [ she's been there before, so she at least knows this firsthand, only her fun experience was on the road and separated from her group. ] Can you make it to the Center??

[oh god, he's not gonna cry, he's not gonna cry-- okay, yeah, he's crying a little. but Sora nods meekly, and tries to grab his backpack with his uninjured arm. Dapper is hovering in the background, then buzzes over to help, looking as guilty as a giant bug is capable.]

[ oh man, big sister instincts ACTIVATE. ]

It's okay... just walk slowly, all right? And take a few deep breaths. They'll make it stop hurting in a jiffy.

Okay...

[Teddiursa will toddle along with the pokégear in his hands-- they're walking slow enough so he can keep up. Dapper is nudging his trainer apologetically, while Sora tries to wipe away the tears that keep pooling in his eyes. ]

Don't... it's okay, Dapper. You just didn't know your own strength, that's all.

[ DON'T CRY SORA, she's tearing up a little herself out of empathy. Come on, Rise, support time. So, with a deep breath-- ]

That's right! Both of you know better now, so the only way you can go is up! You can do it!!

[he glances down at the pokégear to give Rise a wobbly smile, mentally trying to psyche himself up: gosh, Sora, stop crying, it's not that bad! getting checked by a Fat Bandit is ten times worse than a silly bee sting, right? what about taking a Defender's shield to the face? c'mon, this is nothing.]

Yeah-- Now we know to definitely not let you sting people, Dapper! Okay? ... Except for Vanitas. You can sting him.

That guy? Oh, yeah. Sting him allll you want.

Right! Aim for the eyes if you see him, okay Dapper?

[Dapper buzzes an affirmative-- there's nothing better than vigilante justice when it comes to Vanitas.]

You might have to get his helmet off first.

[Sora thinks back to the wicked taunting he got when he asked Vanitas about that helmet. even so, he's feeling a little better now that they've all trudged into the Pokécenter and he's waiting to be looked at.]

He will. And Dapper will be right there to get him in the eyes.

Good. Don't let that jerk get to you, okay?

[ ... like she can talk. ]

Promise me you won't either, okay Rise? It's all of us against just him.

Right, I promise. He'll regret it if he tries anything when we've got the big advantage.

Right! I mean, if you can take on landmarks, you can take on anybody!

He'd better consider himself lucky I'm off my feet right now!

He should! I bet he'd run away screaming if he saw either of us.
