[as much as Sora loves bugs, and as he would have liked to leave Goldenrod to beat up certain bugs for a certain gym badge, this kid appearing on the network this afternoon is in Serious Battle Mode- a mode he hasn't been in ever since he got here and finally had a chance to relax.]

It's just one thing after another... Hey! How is everybody holding up? No serious injuries, right? If you're somewhere around Goldenrod and you need help, lemme know. I'll come get you.

[a pause.] Is anybody else out there trying to fight these things? They need to be kept as far away from the pokecenters as possible so people can still get in.

[Sora shakes his head. he may or may not have been on the receiving end of a Yanma attack earlier, and quite frankly he found it worse than taking a wing to the face from a Wyvern. not something he wants to experience again, nor does he want anybody else experiencing it. luckily he's armed and ready for the next battle he's about to run headfirst into: a carved Keyblade! a single pokeball! ... a pair of earplugs! Sora that is not a good weapon at all.]

[once he sticks in his own earplugs, he gives the pokéball a toss- JIGGLYPUFF, AWAY--]

[the 'puff... puffs up to the size of three beach balls at the sight if incoming bugs. either she's about to start singing her heart out, or she's about to try floating away. brace yourself, Kairi!]

[ braced and hands over ears-- JUST IN CASE. ]

[the Yanma that was fast approaching is the first to go down, sending the Pineco it was carrying rolling right toward Sora's feet. he stares down at it, oh god don't selfdestruct, don't selfdestruct--]

[ welp, time to shove biffle out of the way because praying for it not to blow up is not as good as MOVING in case it doesn't feel like complying. ]

[OOF-- Sora kind of stumbles, then topples right over at the shove, then immediately sits back up and watches in horror at the Pineco, and Kairi standing dangerously close to it.]

[like a ticking time bomb it sits there... sits there... sits there... does nothing...]

[... still doing nothing... apparently they're lucky enough to have encountered a dud.]

... [ well, that was close. Kairi's very quickly inching away from it and moving over to help Sora up. ]

... Is it dead?

I don't think so... it was moving, a little.

[... so Sora takes out an empty pokéball and stares at it in his hand for a moment.]

... Why not, right? [maybe he could train it to be a not dud!]

If it doesn't try exploding when you let it out--

... Nah, I've got a good feeling about this one. [pokéball, go! the Pinedud zips on in with no trouble, and the ball flops back on the ground. will it stay?!]

[ watching it very carefully!! ]

[... and the victory theme drowns out the usual Goldenrod music. Pineco was successfully captured!]
