[as with any other resident of Johto, Sora is drawn out of sleep by that giant flash of light and what sounded almost like the earth cracking open-- all things considered? this is entirely possible. so he clambers out of bed-- Bell is the only one of his Pokémon who sleeps out of the ball, so he grabs her along with his 'gear, too. not that he notices his other Pokémon are mysteriously missing-- and practically stumbles out of the inn in Violet to check out what the heck just happened.]

[except he's not in Violet. he's in Goldenrod.]

What the--

[so Sora's now standing in the middle of the street, barefoot and in his pajamas-- they're blue with little Totodiles. don't judge-- and holding one little Togepi in his arms. looks like it's just the two of them for now.]

[after a few minutes of stunned silence, Sora finally thinks to turn on the video feed.]

Hey! Is everybody okay?

[~~... Riku probably suggested them~~ Sora stops in the middle of the street, his head tilted thoughtfully.]

I guess these all are as good as any... See one you wanna try, Kairi?

How abouuuut...

[ Kairi gives this a great deal of thought. Meaning Kairi actually ponders this for three seconds, then jerks her chin in the direction of the closest one. ]

That one!

All right!

[he'll lead the way, then-- just. be careful, the second he opens the door to the restaurant, they're going to be nearly mowed down by people. considering Johto's population has been going haywire, this probably shouldn't be surprising.]

[ Poor... poor Kairi. She let go of Sora's arm to shield Bell and there is now one (1) Princess of Heart regretting that. ]

[are there even this many people on the islands? Sora's flailing and trying to push his way through the crowd.]

Kairi! Where'd you go?

Sora!!

[ from... somewhere within the crowd, she can't even wave without risking losing the Togepi. ]

[it's like the restaurant is a clown car; how did that many people even fit in there? it'd be comical if people weren't stepping on Sora's bare feet.]

OW! Watch it!

[he doesn't have a very confused and squealing Togepi in his arms like Kairi does, so he shoots his hands in the air, waving frantically-- hopefully he's not too short and she'll spot him.]

[ a few minutes lapse before Kairi can finally spot a set of flailing arms and correctly identify them as Sora's. With a reassuring (she hopes) murmur to Bell, she sets off, weaving her way through people, getting STEPPED ON more than once, but finally pitching forward-- straight at Sora.

Well, she found him. ]

Whoa--

[Sora has to step back to brace himself for incoming Princess and Togepi, lowering his arms to catch her proper. thud-- but he doesn't topple over, and just hangs on to make sure she doesn't, either.]

[ nope, she's good. Saved by the Sora. ]

W-wow, now I know how a sardine feels.

[he's still hanging on-- just in case she falls! that's all!]

... I hope there's still food left, sheesh. You okay?

[ Kairi grins up at him, starting to laugh. She apparently has no problem with proximity. ]

Yeah, I'm fine! We can't give up now!

Right! In the name of dinner!

[he lets go, and motions her to stand clear of the door. he's going to try opening it again and peering inside to see if there's another mass of people.]

[ Kairi peers over his shoulder, heaving a sigh of relief. ] It looks like the coast is clear.

... Maybe we should get takeout in case there's another stampede.

... Good idea. With this many people, it'd be hard to hear yourself think, anyway.

I bet there's a rooftop out there where we could eat and get away from all the people.

Climbing a roof in your pajamas? [ Kairi grins and shakes her head ] You're lucky I'd never tell on you.

Good to know I can count on you to keep me out of trouble, Kairi.

[he'll be poking her on the shoulder playfully and going to fetch them some delicious takeout. and the girl working at the counter is going to comment on his cute pajamas and Sora is going to immediately lineface.]

[ please forgive her, she's kind of laughing over here. Looks like Sora hasn't changed a bit. ]

[this is Sora carrying back a bag'o'food with a huge pout on his face. his pajamas are not cute; they are awesome! why does everybody keep calling him and his pajamas adorable. :|]

You made it back in one piece! Congratulations! [ Kairi will mercifully not remark on how cute and/or hilarious that was. ]

[that pout just melts right off his face.]

Yup! Nobody stepped on my feet or anything.

Are you ready to get going, then?

Yup! I bet we could get on top of the roof of the inn.
