[video, glorious video. Sora's finally gotten his 'gear fixed after a week of texting and learning how to make smiley faces with symbols, and although he has to admit the smiley faces are pretty cool, he's much happier to be able to talk to the network face-to-face. sort of face-to-face. he's feeling a lot better, too.]

[so there's a very groggy kid opening up a feed today. it looks like he's just woken up from a fantastic nap, because he has some equally fantastic bedhead: the smaller spikes that usually go every which way are actually almost entirely flattened against his face on one side, and the bigger ones have sort of lost their vaguely coherent shape. it's quite a sight, really, and Sora doesn't seem to realize he has it.]

... Hey. Uh. I got a list of names from everybody who signed up to help with food for the festival from Nurse Joy. If you're still interested, the restaurants in your town would be happy to have you help! And if you were thinking about selling some kind of food from back home at a booth, they've all agreed to let you use their kitchens to make it. You just need to let them know in advance.

-- Oh yeah! Are any of you interested in running booths? If so, what kind?

[Sora pauses here, instinctively rubbing his eyes. as fantastic of a nap that was, he really hasn't been getting enough sleep out here on route 32.]

Ven? Where are you guys? We're just outside Union Cave. And--

[he turns away from the 'gear to address someone off screen. behold, spiky bedhead in all of its majesty!]

[ THIS GRACE IS UNPARALLELED-- in other words, Rise miraculously maintains her balance and is still beaming up a storm. ]

I didn't know you were this close!

[that grin is absolutely contagious, so he beams right back-- he is still sort of half asleep and his hair is completely insane but who cares, Rise is here! he steps closer to offer his shoulder in case she needs it.]

[ She may need it sooner or later, but Rise's been wanting to do this for awhile, and now that he's standing right in front of her (bleary of eye and frumpy of hair), she's going to put her plan into action.

The plan that consists entirely of pulling him in for a hug. ]

[that catches him off guard at first, and he stands there for a few seconds, stunned-- but he quickly realizes how badly he's been needing a hug this week, after trying so hard to be strong and not seem as upset as he really has been. that strong front melts right off almost immediately, and Sora clings back, trying to hide his face.]

[ she'd thought so. Rise's had plenty of experience with guys putting up a tough front, sometimes more for their own sakes than anyone else's. And Terra had reminded her that she was needed-- as Sora's friend, she needed to be strong so he didn't have to be, if just for a little while. She does have to lean a bit, in order not to topple over while she's on one foot, but this doesn't deter her-- if anything, it only strengthens her grip. ]

I know, Sora. You don't have to hold it in anymore.

[ because if anyone knows about evil things wearing your face, it's the Persona 4 team. ]

S-sorry--

[he's trying to cork the overflow of emotion just as soon as it even started, although he's failing spectacularly. Keybearers have to be a lot tougher than this, don't they? he's not doing a very good job of it, and he certainly isn't going to let go of Rise anytime soon. she might be stuck with a Sora accessory for a little while.]

Don't apologize. No matter who or what they are, everyone needs support every now and then.

[ said matter-of-factly and sincerely. And hey, Sora accessories are so awesome and trendy, she will sport it with PRIDE. For now, she'll just hold him. ]

[he... looks up at her after a minute, his eyes watery and his smile wobbly-- but Rise has given him a whole new bout of confidence in both hug and reassurance, and in time his smile will straighten into something a lot stronger.]

Thank you, Rise...

[ she takes a minute to use a sleeve to blot his eyes dry, and then sets about... trying to perform a miracle on his hair, giving him a warm smile as she does so. Please don't mind this idol fussing with your appearance. ]

What are friends for, right?

Right.

[he'll stand quietly and let her work her magic on his hair, though after a minute he smiles again, embarrassed.]

Is it that bad?

Let's just say I can tell you had a reeeeaaally good nap.

[he can't help but laugh a little sheepishly.]

It was a great nap! I don't even remember falling asleep, actually.

Soraaaaa... [ she attempts to say sternly, but there's a tell-tale twitch of the lips. She's... trying, though. ] You'd better have been getting enough sleep.

I have! -- I've been trying!

[hhhhh.]

I'm working on something really important.

[ VERY STERN LOOK. ]

Nothing's more important than making sure you take care of yourself!

[deflaaates.]

M'sorry. I'll take a really, really good nap soon, okay? It'll take you at least 20 minutes to fix my hair.

... [ okay, she can't keep that look up when he says stuff like that, and she'll end up laughing instead. On the bright side, his hair's been restored to... its usual mess. ]

I expect at least 30, not a minute earlier!

I think I could probably do that! I'll just need a really nice and comfy spot to nap.

I don't know how many you're going to find out here, to be honest.

Hmmm... I'll have to improvise.

If worse comes to worst, you can lean on me! I bet I'm comfy.

You wouldn't mind?

Nope! I'd be fine playing pillow for a little while for special people.

[Sora can't help but turn a little pink at that, and smiles affectionately up at her-- like how he'd smile up at a big sister.]

I might have to take you up on that offer later.

[ she's seen that look before, from Nanako and Yayoi-- but from Sora? It only takes her a minute, and then her smile's out in full force and she's just as affectionately ruffling his spikes. Big sister-style. ]
