[well, this all started out innocently enough. after Dapper evolved into a Kakuna following a spectacular Caterpie smashing last week, both Sora and bug have been very eager to see how he turns out as a Beedrill-- so the past five days have been pretty constant training, stoutness exercises included! and now, after having finally gained a few quick levels, tada!! Sora is the proud new trainer of a very large and feisty Beedrill! and Dapper couldn't be happier; now he's finally able to carry out his one big, life-long wish.]

Dapper! Get back here!

[unfortunately, that life-long wish is doorbell ditching. it's the Teddiursa who's turned on the pokégear this time-- the feed displays the larger half of Cherrygrove, and a Beedrill gleefully fluttering to the closest residence, smashing the doorbell repeatedly with his stinger, then shooting up in the air to hover just above the doorway. poor Sora is not far behind, pokéball in an outstretched hand and his expression quite kicked puppy when he's suddenly left to deal with the residents answering the door.]

Hey, kid! Didn't anybody ever tell you you're supposed to hide after ringing the doorbell?

[Sora just barely manages an apology before he has to chase after Dapper again-- the Beedrill is even going into the Pokémart and center, ringing the bells at the front desks, then zooming off for his next victim. those listening to the feed can hear the Teddiursa laughing, despite himself.]

[the feeling's mutual; he's all but forgotten about his renegade bug for the moment, returning that bright smile with a grin of his own. Sora's so happy to finally see him in person! he's not too much shorter than Ven, but he does have to look up slightly to make eye contact.]

[now's the time for a long overdue hair-ruffle, because Ven's just been itching to do that. he doesn't really even know why, maybe Terra can explain that someday]

Did you just get here?

[THE AFRO BEGINS-- Sora's hair is a wild mess now, and he flaps his arms a little in protest-- but he's grinning anyway. he kind of gets big brother vibes from Ven.]

Yup! Dapper just evolved, too! ... And now he's doorbell ditching.

[Ven would...try and straighten that out but he's not sure what goes where]

Oh so that uh-

[he turns around, pointing at the Beedrill being tailed by a teddybear down the way]

I'm guessing that's him?

[that's quite all right; Sora runs a quick hand through his hair, more or less straightening it back to its, uh... constantly messy state, oh well. he puffs up in pride in thinking about Dapper, though.]

Yeah! Isn't he awesome? I can't wait to use him in battle.

He looks like he's grown a lot!

[so proud of you, lil' bro, however...]

...I think he might be getting into trouble though.

Dapper, come back already!

[Dapper is currently hovering above the doorway of a house he'd just doorbell ditched, so Sora's easily able to recall him back into the pokéball. he grips the ball in his hands, because that Beedrill is not by any means happy with this situation and will break out the second he gets a chance.]

I hope you didn't get us in too much trouble, Dapper...

[Sora's Teddiursa, meanwhile, is toddling over to Ven's teddy to poke at him curiously.]

[nothing better than teddybuddies-- Sora's Teddiursa is going to stop poking and start the stoutness exercises.]

Yeah, but it's more fun to be with friends than it is to doorbell ditch by yourself! Terra already said it's fine as long as we don't tell Aqua.

[so Ven's little bear will observe this thoughtfully...before deciding a good ol' slap's in order. this isn't Bongo, little guy-]

I've actually never seen Terra do something like that before...

[course, Ven wasn't technically allowed off-world, so maybe that's why, hmm]

[Teddiursa will continue his stoutness exercises right through that love tap, though he does pause momentarily to reply with a love tap of his own. c'mon, teddybuddy, stoutness exercises are fun!]

[so Ven's little bear will watch a while longer before launching into an activity of its own. ever seen a teddy bear try to do squats like Zack? here's a chance to see it]

[... this is quite possibly the most adorable scene ever. the only thing that's missing is Hope's teddy bear.]

It's pretty fun! Just not a good idea to make a habit out of it like Dapper was.

[well as soon as they get back to Violet, they'll have to have a teddyfest]

Doorbell ditching is kind of like spices when you cook. It makes your day more interesting, but do it too much and it just tastes awful.

[That makes him think of Rise, and he can't help but snerk]

[Sora snickers a little himself; he can't help it.]

I hear a friend of mine adds too many spices to things, so it made me think of that.

Her name's Rise! Have you met her?

I met her when she put on that concert! We sang together.

She's one of the first people I met here.

[pfff, Ven's going to give him a brand new hairstyle at this rate-- Sora grins, though, looking just a bit embarrassed.]
