004; [action for those around Violet and Route 31/video]

[now, Dapper here hasn't been with his Trainer for very long, but in the short time they have spent together, he's seemed to pick up on Sora's general moods and mannerisms (not that it's difficult to do so): there's the default pretty cheerful Sora, the determined-to-battle-and-win Sora, the frustrated Sora, and most likely Dapper's personal favorite, the Dapper-why-did-you-just-sting-me Sora.]

[but mopey Sora is definitely a new one- new enough for Dapper to see fit to record the occasion like a nature documentary! the feed flicks on to a shot of Route 31, just outside of Violet City. our rare specimen is sitting nearby with his back to the camera, knees drawn up to his chest to serve as a spot to hide his face. Puddles is sitting next to him, nudging at him with a bag of trail mix between its teeth, because food is always a good pick-me-up apparently.]

... It's fine, Puddles. Really.

[pffft, Sora'd probably pay good munny to see that, Ven. extra if Roxas happens to be in the same room.]

[oh boy, he weirds out Roxas with his friendliness already]

No, Aqua showed up just the other day. This'll be the first time I've seen her in...well, a good while.

[he's trying not to sound too enthused because of the Kairi situation, but he's only half-successful]

[Sora knows better than to drag others down with him- if he's jealous, it doesn't show at all in his grin.]

Really? That's great! More people for our party one day.

[aw Sora, such a sweetheart]

Yeah, definitely! I bet you'd really like her.

You think so? What's she like?

She's really nice. And she's smart, and good with magic, and...

[after a lengthy list of Everything Awesome About Aqua, he pauses to fish out his Wayfinder]

And she made me this. She and Terra have them too.

[sadly, he never got to the point back home where Kairi passed on her good luck charm. Sora quietly listens to the rather impressive list, and there's a brief flicker of surprise in his expression- some of those items on the list sound awfully familiar, and he can't quite place why. more like the dots in his memories aren't connecting. the Wayfinder just surprises him even more.]

I think Kairi has one of those! It's a Thalassa Shell charm.

[it's Ven's turn to look surprised now]

Whoa, really? Aqua said that's what you're supposed to make them from...but we don't have seashells back home.

Yup! They're native to Destiny Islands. I think they're supposed to look like paopu fruits.

[shrugs.]

Kairi said they're good luck charms for sailors, so they'll have a safe journey. Wait- there's no beach on your world, Ven?

Paopu fruits? I don't think I've heard of those...

[and he shakes his head]

Nope, but the sky's really pretty there.

They're also native to Destiny Islands! They kinda look like big yellow stars, and if you eat one with somebody, your destinies are supposed to become entwined.

[Sora scratches the back of his head.]

Aw man, Ven. But you've been fishing though, right?

She talked about those, too! Didn't know which world they were from though.

[...abuh?]

So Aqua's been to Destiny Islands before?

[... ... what.]

Okay Ven? The second you and Aqua get back to Violet we're gonna find somewhere to go fishing. It's fun!

I'm not sure...Riku seems to think so, but that's the first I'd heard of it.

Alright, if you say it's fun, I bet it is!

... Hmm..

[Sora looks very thoughtful at that for a few minutes.]

It is! Kay said you can catch a bunch of different kinds of pokémon through fishing here.

You can? I didn't even think about something like that.

Yup! Can't eat 'em, though.

[eating his catch for the day was one of Sora's favorite parts of fishing, so he huffs a little.]

Is that what you do back home?

Yeah, that's the best part about fishing! Everything tastes better when you catch it and make it yourself.

[he supposes that ice cream he had to run around getting ingredients was pretty good...]

I think you've got a point there,even if I haven't tried that with fish.

[eating that ice cream then bursting into flames was pretty cool, too!]

If I was a good cook I'd figure out a way to make some of the berries out here actually taste good.

Maybe we can find somebody here who can do that.

[mun wants to know what the heck kinda ice cream machine those ducks were using to even make ice cream that causes one to burst into flames.]

We could have a berry-cooking competition with all the best chefs in Johto! ... I'll be a judge.

[a machine that runs on Disney Magic and the brand of paint Nomura drinks. and...Ven has to chuckle at that]

Sounds like a plan! Maybe we could make a festival out of it.

[always figured Nomura was a paint thinner man, personally- regardless! Sora grins.]
