[It's been a long day of traveling and training- well, okay, traveling and watching Puddles graze instead of battling- but today was not an entire waste! Now that things have settled down a little, Sora can focus on a new task he's assigned himself: he's managed to scrounge up a pen and a few small scraps of paper, though he'll write all over his map if he needs to. When the video flips on, that's exactly what he's doing, hunched over with his tongue poking out in concentration as he scribbles.]

[After a moment, he looks up, like he'd forgotten he'd turned on his pokégear. That's not the case, though:]

Hey! Can you guys help me with something?

[Puddles opens his mouth and bends down, teeth bared and hungry and-- his snout hits the grass Pink Mister Edgeworth is standing next to. false alarm; sorry if he incited a heart attack, there. Sora, meanwhile, looks a little aghast at the thought of someone yelling at Pearl.]

What? What'd he look like, Pearl? I'll yell at him.

[Pink Mister Edgeworth watches Puddles eat the grass a moment, before casually getting up and side-scuttling a few steps closer to Pearl. Pearl's too busy talking to notice, though.]

I think I already did. [And she seems a little shocked by that. She can be demanding or ragey sometimes when people mistreat Mystic Maya, but she isn't used to yelling at people.]

[Sora turns slightly to pick up his map, which is now covered in scribbles and an assortment of.. pretty bad drawings. let's see if he can decipher his own handwriting.]

[And she notices Pink Mister Edgeworth now, and invites him a little closer. He glances at Puddles (who's currently got a Fanny attached to his leg) and scuttles a little closer. Pearly strokes him behind an ear, and while he decides what to think of that, she turns to Sora again.]

...Sora?

[he glances up from the quite frankly disaster that is his map.]

Yeah?

[She seems hesitant to pry, but...]

A man talked to you. He says his name is John Doe.

...

There was a bad man named Mr. de Killer, where I'm from. He said his name was John Doe. And Mr. Doe's voice is very familiar...

[Another pause, and she's looking at her hands folded on her lap.]

Mr. de Killer kidnapped Mystic Maya. He said he'd hurt her really bad if we didn't prove a murderer was innocent to get him out of trouble...

I don't want him to hurt you.

[he.. looks a little surprised with Pearl at first, but his expression smooths out as quickly as it had strayed. he can't, and certainly won't fault her for listening in on his conversations- he knows he'd be doing the exact same thing, in Pearl's position. Sora shakes his head, smiling warmly.]

Don't worry. I won't let anything bad happen, I promise.

[And he promises, so somehow, that means it's true.

So Pearl smiles back, lifting Pink Mister Edgeworth and holding him out to Sora.] Hopper?

He needs to make friends.

[The Hoppip is looking entirely uncomfortable with being handled... that's probably what Pearly means.]

[Sora happily accepts Pink Mister Edgeworth, setting him down on his lap so he can just chill for a minute. maybe he just needs to get used to being around people.]

Hey there, little guy! Are you hungry?

[Pink Mister Edgeworth seems quite grateful to be set down, and because of that, he doesn't seem to be in too much of a hurry to vacate the premesis. At mention of food, he looks interested, though not eager. His leaves perk up some (they've been kinda keeping a low profile around Puddles).]

[that's probably a good idea, Pink Mister Edgeworth. Sora pats him on the head lightly, wondering how one goes about feeding what looks like a living plant. does he.. does he just hold him up to the sun every few hours and give him water?]

Does he eat the berries around here, Pearl?

[He seems interested in the idea, though. I'm thinkin' Hoppips are half solid food, half solar. |D ]

[right, so, feed him a couple of berries, then plant him in the ground for a few hours. 8D that works! Sora's been hoarding the berries he's come across for the most part, so he pulls a few out of his backpack that his guide says are safe to eat and holds them out to Pink Mr. Edgeworth.]

[NO NO NO HE NEEDS OXYGEN. D: but otherwise you've got it down. Either way, Pink Mr. Edgeworth sniffs them, twitches an ear, then eats them quickly (well, picks them up quickly and chews contemplatively).]

I think he likes them!
