[When the video feed first clicks on, there isn't much in the way of visuals except blackness, interspersed with the occasional flash of dull light. The sounds are much more fascinating than the sights, as it were: something is snuffling at the pokégear, and after a moment there's a series of sharp thunks, as if someone were rapping against the microphone. Something is trying to eat it.]

-- Hey! Knock it off! Look, there's food in the bag if you're hungry..

[The feed swings around wildly as Sora snatches away and tries to wipe the pokégear off on his jumpsuit, then stops abruptly as he turns it over in his hand and stares straight into the camera, his expression bewildered. This thing looks more high-tech than the lifts in Hollow Bastion.]

Okay, I'm.. not really sure what I was expecting, but the everlasting Darkness is weird.

Hey! Uh..

[lightly scrunches up his face in thought, like he's trying to think of a tactful way to ask who seems to know him, "Who are you?" without sounding rude.]

_{[At first she's like '... Wait, what?' ... And then she notices how... little he is. And how much higher his VOICE is.]}

_{[She's seen a couple people now come back with NO MEMORY whatsoever... which is... weird but... she's guessing it's what happened here.]}

[his gaze drifts off somewhere past the camera, his expression still sagging in a frown.]

Heather. I won't forget again, I promise.

It's okay, don't worry about it. _{[She chuckles slightly.]} You uh... wouldn't be the first. When did you get here?

Just now, I guess! There's also a giraffe here. See?

[he turns the pokégear to the side to show Heather a Girafarig snout-deep in his bag, munching away on whatever goodies were stowed in there. Sora didn't really even get a chance to look.]

_{[The truth is that right at the moment, she's in the middle of a fairly distressing situation. However, the sight of a giraffe with its nose stuck in a backpack is impossible not to smile at, and a smile's the thing she needs right now.]}

How you, uh-- talked to Kairi yet? ... She's here, too.

_{[And she'd been the one who talked to Heather shortly after Sora disappeared, so...]}

[when the camera focuses on Sora again, he looks concerned.]

No, I haven't. Is she okay? She got her heart back and everything, right?

_{[Heather ticked her head to the side slightly. Her 'heart' back...? ... Was he talking about Namine? This gal has little to no clue about the crazy physics behind the Destiny Island kids.]}

Uh... I think so. She was fine when I last saw her.

_{[Or close to fine. Y'know, she'd been... coping. But pretty good, considering.]}

Oh, good! Good.. it worked, then.

[grins widely; he always does at the mention of Kairi.]

Do you know where she is now? How do I get to her?

_{[GOSH HE'S SO LITTLE, HOW DID THIS EVEN HAPPEN-- ahem.]}

Okay-- the last I talked to her was maybe a week ago at most, and she was in a place called Violet City. If you're-- uh, where everyone usually shows up when they get here, it's... quite a walk from where you are. Two weeks, at least.

But I bet Kairi will stick around there once she knows you're here.

[lowers his head, droooooooping. even his hair is drooping.]

In fact I'd bet that if you can get hold of her over the PokeGear-- ... er, that's this... thing we're talking through-- she'd even come meet you halfway or something!

[cue the frantic smashing of buttons- the screen fizzles to black momentarily, but he can still be heard talking to the Pokégear.]

Kairi? Kairi! Are you there? Hello?

[the video cuts back on after a minute.]

Um.. Does she have a number, or something?

It's uh-- ... I'm not actually sure. It's kinda weird how these things work. For the moment I think you'll just have to wait for her to uh... see your video transmission or something.

I know she's gotta be around though.

We... sort of had a big incident with the wildlife in the area not too long ago and everyone's kind of recuperating from that. _{[... Ooh crap, that WAS something she hadn't thought of... she wasn't sure if anyone had been badly hurt during all the crazy crap that had gone down...]} So uh... maybe she's just not checking her messages at the moment or something.

But I'm sure you'll be able to get in contact with her somehow.

Hey, if I see her, I'll mention you're here, all right?

I will see her, though! I don't mind waiting a little while longer..

[he's been searching for Kairi for so long anyhow. Sora beams down at the Pokégear, his outlook on the situation uplifted considerably.]
