[Sora points the feed toward a cozy spot of trees near the exit to Violet City, and the entrance to Route 31. a giant boulder-sized Skarmory is contentedly perched amongst the trees, though when her gaze catches the 'gear, she gives it-- Sora, presumably-- a rather dirty look.]

I found Metal Chocobo! [judging by her hardened stare, she wasn't too thrilled with him up and disappearing on her, either. instead of pecking at him disapprovingly like one might expect, however, she's elected to just sit there. glaring.]

But... what do you do when one of your pokémon steals your other pokémon and refuses to give them back?

[upon closer inspection... yes, that would be a yellow paw on the ground directly beneath where Metal Chocobo is roosting. Roxas the Jolteon knows better than to attack without Sora's permission, so he is just... silently enduring being sat on like an egg.]

[heck, there's even an egg there, too. Sora didn't get a chance to read who it was from before Metal Chocobo swooped in with an metallic grinding squawk and snatched it right out of his hands, though.]

[Seeing that guilt on his face, Lightning gives Sora a moment before she speaks. Odd thing to feel guilty about, but...]

You might want to let her back out when you have someone to help you fight her if she attacks you. I don't think you want to end up in the hospital for days again.

You don't... really think she would, right Lightning? Roxas can handle her, no problem-- when she's not sitting on him, anyway.

[Well, that is the worst kind of guilt. It can be really hard to ease, sadly. Lightning knows that from experience.]

She might, if she was angry enough. She could just see it as teaching you a lesson about vanishing again, but they forget we're more fragile than they are sometimes.

I'll.. give her an hour or so to cool off, then I'll let her out. I don't want to leave her in there too long without fixing things.

If she's really out of control, I can ask Riku for help.

[A nod; she gets that, too. But at least this can be controlled by them. No poofing Skarmories...hopefully.]

So if she threw herself at you, you could handle that? They're not exactly a lightweight species, you know.

Back home or here? I shouldn't have to tell you things are different between the places. That means coming up with different strategies to handle the same situations.

Well... Something tells me attacking a metal bird from above to get an advantage won't work. [not when your opponent can fly, Sora.]

You have to hit something that isn't going to just dent. You'd have to hit her from below, instead. The exposed parts on her throat and other places like it.

[She's dealt with confused students before. Sora's far from the worst, and he's a quick learner. That helps...most of the time.]

Exactly. Provided she's not going too fast to hit, an uppercut should work just fine.

You'll probably fall over. That's where rolling with the fall comes in; it'll hurt, but at least you're less likely to break your neck.
