[good evening, Johto! on your 'gears tonight is a kid with a thousand problems-- and his pokémon are at the moment every single one.]

[Sora points the feed toward a cozy spot of trees near the exit to Violet City, and the entrance to Route 31. a giant boulder-sized Skarmory is contentedly perched amongst the trees, though when her gaze catches the 'gear, she gives it-- Sora, presumably-- a rather dirty look.]

I found Metal Chocobo! [judging by her hardened stare, she wasn't too thrilled with him up and disappearing on her, either. instead of pecking at him disapprovingly like one might expect, however, she's elected to just sit there. glaring.]

But... what do you do when one of your pokémon steals your other pokémon and refuses to give them back?

[upon closer inspection... yes, that would be a yellow paw on the ground directly beneath where Metal Chocobo is roosting. Roxas the Jolteon knows better than to attack without Sora's permission, so he is just... silently enduring being sat on like an egg.]

[heck, there's even an egg there, too. Sora didn't get a chance to read who it was from before Metal Chocobo swooped in with an metallic grinding squawk and snatched it right out of his hands, though.]

No, of course not! I didn't even realize I was gone until I woke up back in New Bark Town and months had passed!

[She looks like she's thinking hard for a moment, then smiles a little.]

Can she hear me okay from where you are? I wanna talk to her.

Yeah, she is-- hang on!

[Sora takes a few tentative steps forward, then turns the 'gear in his hands so it's facing Metal Chocobo. you have the floor, Pinkie Pie!]

[Her expression is surprisingly - or perhaps not so surprisingly, if one is familiar with her canon - understanding and sympathetic.]

I know that... it can be really hard when you feel like you've been abandoned! You get angry and sad because you were lonely! But your trainer's back now, and never left on purpose. It's all a big misunderstanding! I know how that feels; I thought my friends had abandoned me once, too. But they didn't! They all love me very much. Your trainer just wants to be a good trainer again, shouldn't you give him a chance? Wouldn't it be nicer to be friends than to be angry?

[Metal Chocobo is really a huge softie at heart, so she's almost immediately disarmed by this argument. but-- SQUAWWWWK-- but, but, what if I do something wrong and he leaves again? what if he left the first time because he was mad I tried to feed him a Caterpie? ... I mean, it was a very, very nutritious Caterpie!]

[She may not be able to understand pokémon speech, but she remembers how it felt, thinking she'd been abandoned.]

You just have to remember that your friends never leave on purpose! That's why they're your friends! So I think you should forgive your trainer for leaving.

[Metal Chocobo cocks her head to the side-- lifts it slighty in Sora's direction. SQUAWK-- can I just peck him once in punishment and to threaten him if he ever tries to leave again?]

[She would totally disapprove of that if she knew that's what Metal Chocobo was going to do!]

Does that mean you're really going to forgive him? Yay!

[of course I will! right after I've fluttered down to his side and I've given him a hearty donk on the head with the blunt side of my beak.]

H-hey, ow! [there, all is forgiven. Sora just rubs at his head with a hand and nearly falls over when Metal Chocobo nuzzles his face.]

Yippee! You're friends again!

[Sora makes a vague @_@ sort of face from the peck, then shakes his head-- and directs a smile to the 'gear.]

Yeah! Thank you so much, Miss.

Just call me Pinkie Pie! And you're welcome! I couldn't just not help when a friendship was in trouble!

Thank you again, Pinkie Pie! Ah-- have you been here long? Where are you from?

[standard Sora questions, he likes to keep record of the people-- ponies-- he meets while in Johto so he can share with Jiminy Cricket later.]

I've been here a few days now!

And I'm from Ponyville! That's in Equestria, since humans don't seem to know anything about it.

Ponyville? [oddly enough, Sora looks thoughtful. now why does that sound familiar...]

Oh! You know Applejack? We talked about eating daisy sandwiches a while back, but I haven't seen her since.

Applejack was here? I didn't know that!

[This is indeed news to her!]

She was! I... guess she left, though. You guys are friends?

Of course! Applejack's only one of my very best friends in all of Equestria!

Really? So you eat daisy sandwiches, too?

All the time! Well, not all the time, but pretty often!

[oh, now you've really piqued his interest-- Sora's always wanted to try a daisy sandwich ever since Applejack mentioned them.]

Do you eat them plain, or do you put condiments on them?

Oh, I put all kinds of stuff on mine! But I think most of the time ponies eat them pretty plain.

Really? What do you usually put on yours?

Well sometimes I put peanut butter! Or just regular butter! Or honey! Or hot sauce!
