[Sora doesn't remember much about the last time Johto's population grew exponentially in size, aside from the fact that he was in his favorite pair of pajamas and he lost a fight miserably to Vanitas-- though, the fact that he's suddenly able to summon his Keyblade is at least helping to deter the thought of losing fights-- and it isn't exactly the main thing that has him on edge.]

[it's this flower thingy that keeps popping up wherever he goes. tapping it with the Keyblade did nothing. taking off toward the beach to try to lose it did nothing; it just reappeared right behind him, even as Sora waded out into the water. ... fire especially did nothing. flower thingy does not like fire, and it's starting to get really creepy.]

[hence why he turns on his pokégear, fixing it on his, erm... stalker.]

Okay, I get that a lot of new people have been showing up, but what about new things? Does anybody know what this even is-- some kind of new plant? It's like it's everywhere I go.

Liar. [he blurts out, but Sora's able to keep up with his mouth's pace, at least. if Lightning won't... come back to the light, as it were, then he'll just have to make her. like he did with Riku.]

[he's maybe a little rusty in fighting, but he settles down lower into his normal fighting stance, gripping his Keyblade.]

Because now she's smirking almost cruelly, while her namesake sparks around the hand that's not holding her gunblade out in a combat stance. Those sparks stay as she makes a come here gesture, and the smirk deepens.]

[there's the briefest of hesitance on Sora's end, before a few slow steps break into a run, and he charges, Keyblade drawn. even if fighting with a weapon is one of his strengths, he is still very well aware of how hard Lightning hits. his first swings won't be soft hitters, but they are cautious ones.]

[Sorry Sora, but caution won't help you in this fight. This woman is not wasting any time and is instead lunging forward, attemping to kick his legs out from under him so as to put her blade at his neck. Not that it's...all that likely to work. He's a slippery kid.]

[only when he only barely manages to stumble out of the way does Sora realize he can't exercise caution when attacking, not in this case-- if he wants to win this fight, he's going to have to disable who he thinks is Lightning, and fast. once he's regained his footing, he takes off again, lunging to the side and aiming his attempted strikes for the sides of her leg, a shoulder, anything that might slow her down or make it difficult to wield the gunblade.]

[If there's one thing about Lightning that even this mockery of her gets right, it's her speed. Sora's strikes do hit home, but she recovers quickly and continues to lash out at him, aiming for his head or to disarm him by hitting his hands. Knocking him down is also something she's attempting to do, but he's a fast and slippery teen, so her luck on that isn't holding.

But, speed aside, Lightning isn't meant for long, drawn out fights. If Sora can manage to keep at it, he will wear her down decently quickly.]

[Sora will just have to fight through it whenever he takes a hit, and silently thank the fact that he has his Keyblade at all. as long as he can dart away long enough to heal himself. which is exactly what he's planning on doing- he takes one more quick swing aimed at Lightning's arm before he breaks away, taking off to the side to muster up the strength to heal.]

[unfortunately, in doing so, he'll leave himself open for attack for a good few seconds.]

[It is indeed unfortunate that Sora's left himself open, because Lightning is just going to rush forward, aiming to kick his legs out and put her blade to his neck again. She's not intending to let him get away this time, either, and is ignoring the aches that are starting to come from his strikes. She's good at doing, that, really. Far too good.]

[it's a direct hit! the kick sends him sprawling, and Sora instinctively swings the Keyblade beneath him to brace his fall-- probably not a very good tactic either, once he lands he'll have to do a lot of shifting to get his weapon back.]
