[if there's one thing Sora here is really good at, it's comfort-- whether it be an enthusiastic pep talk, or telling a silly joke or making a silly face to get a laugh out of whoever needs it, Sora can and does deliver! he's usually pretty successful at getting a smile, at least, though he's better at comforting when he has an experience of his own that he can relate to whatever's happening with a friend.]

[and... he's been trying his best with his friends this week. today, however, Sora will be marching into completely uncharted territory experience-wise when he turns on the feed-- it's so unfamiliar, in fact, that he doesn't even recognize it.]

... There's something wrong with Puddles.

[at least, he wouldn't be able to recognize it on a Pokémon. the feed turns to show the edge of Cherrygrove and Route 30, where the aforementioned Girafarig is standing. just standing there. and staring off down Route 30 longingly. maybe he missed a patch of grass on the way down here?]

I tried taking him to the Pokécenter, and they looked at him... Then Nurse Joy just kinda laughed and told me he's fine. But he's not! Ever since we got here, he's just been standing right there in the same spot like a zombie. Puddles! C'mere!

[Puddles bleats in acknowledgment, but does not move, nor does he refrain from staring off down Route 30 like there's a special Girafarigs-only treasure down that road or something. Sora sighs.]

I don't get it.

Puddles isn't much of a fighter, either. He and Lumina will probably get along great!

[he lets her sniff his hand as much as she'd like! ... she's not gonna bite him, is she?]

I hope so! Lumina can be really...stubborn.

[She's not! But she's gonna back away now, and sit on Kairi's feet.

[Sora will fight the stubborn with his own brand of stubborn. we are going to be friends you tiny fox, there is no escape.]

Vulpix. [She lifts one of her paws and waves it. Is she...trying to shoo him away?

Kairi gives the little Vulpix a disapproving frown.]

Lumi, be nice.

Yeah! We're gonna be traveling together, so we may as well be friends, right?

[Riku has awesome timing, doesn't he? Right about now he's dragging his Feraligatr by the arm with his Nidoking giving him a push from behind, grunting apologetically.

It's...a pretty comedic sight, given that Jaws is almost eight feet, Riku's only a little more than five, and Slacker's 4'6''.

...But once Riku sees Kairi? He'll let go of his stubborn gator and stride on over.]

[Kairi turns quickly, grinning.]

Of course not! I was starting to wonder where you'd run off to.

[Have a curious Lumina trotting over to sniff your foot, Riku.]

[Sora hops right to his feet, beaming-- awwww yeah, they're finally all together again!]

Hey, Riku! What's with your dinosaurs?

[Pfff. Jaws grunts and growls, trying to jerk free of Slacker's grip on his tail. Meanwhile, Riku rolls his eyes and crouches down to look at the Vulpix. Interesting.]

Jaws wouldn't get out of the water, so we had to drag him off.

[Aaand she does the same thing she did to Sora: Huff and go to sit on Kairi's feet, an unhappy expression on her face.]

...Jaws?

Jaws is Riku's dinosaur! You shoulda seen it when he hatched from his egg, Kairi. The first thing he did was bite Riku right in the head.

[Jaws' eyes go wide, and he puts his hands over his mouth. D'aw, he looks a little embarrassed!

Slacker, after a few more shoves, gets tired of pushing his teammate and instead wanders over to Kairi and her Vulpix. 'sup? Nidokings are probably shorter than Kairi (or around her height), but he definitely towers over a Vulpix!

Yeah. Riku just had to have his derpiest Pokémon out. Aw well.]

Yeah, he had a nasty biting habit until he evolved. I'm lucky he didn't break skin.

Well, at least he's outgrown it [Kairi laughs, but Lumina's like: Ohgodscreaaaminggg. (Aka: running as far away as she can)]

Hey, Lumina--!

[Puddles will go after her! much like Trainer, Puddles is very stubborn and will follow other pokémon until they're forced to be his friend. Sora just watches, scratching the back of his head.]

[Slacker tilts his head, wandering closer to Riku. Jaws, though?

He... follows Puddles. Silly gator isn't even aware of how freaking huge he is.]

[The tiny Vulpix continues running, trying to find a nice, small place to hide.

Kairi watches the spectacle and sighs.]

Oh no...it'll take forever to find her now.

Don't worry. I bet Puddles will sniff her out.

[it's true; Puddles is like a bloodhound. blood giraffe. he can sniff out food from a mile away, at least.]

[Sniffing? Jaws can do that! He'll get down on all fours and start sniffing, too.]

Jaws, cut it out.
