[look out, Violet City Pokécenter, because not only has Sora's shift filing papers and such ended, but it's Friday-- pay day! he has amassed more pokédollars in three days than he's ever had in his entire life, and he is positively psyched about his new-found riches. pokémon and random town citizens alike scatter when he bursts through the door, his fist that's clutching the envelope pumped in the air triumphantly-- sorry if you happened to be on your way in; he might have just mowed you down in all of his victory.]

Ohhhh yeah! Who wants dinner?

[he's met with a loud chorus from his pokémon-- particularly the tiny little Togepi holding the pokégear. when Sora notices the feed's running, he bends down to look at it, grinning. hello, network!]

Hey, can I ask you guys something?

[ooc; Sora has lame victory poses. :V]

Do you know anything about hearts?

Then, uh... eat really cheap until then!!

Hearts? What do you mean by hearts? I'm not a doctor or anything...

... I think if I eat one more bite of trail mix I'm gonna barf.

[Sora pats a hand over his own heart.]

I mean... the thing that makes you feel. Your heart.

...Not necessarily that cheap, ehehe. Get something different! It doesn't have to be gourmet.

Oh. Uh... I dunno, I think you might be thinking of something different than I am. I mean, I know there's your physical heart and the one used in the sense of emotions, but you sound like you're talking about something like the two of them combined?

I could go for some really good fish right about now, actually.

And, yeah. Well, there's your heart that's the muscle, but then you have a heart that kind of drives who you are. It's where you feel your emotions, it's... kind of the reason I'm me and you're you.

Fish is awesome!! I'm sure you can find some good sushi or cooked fish if you look! I probably would've even suggested catching it yourself if they had actual fish that weren't Pokemon here... hehe. Fish is always best when it's that fresh, after all.

Ahh... so it's a physical thing as well, then? The heart where you feel your emotions, I mean.

And I've got enough money to actually buy some now! Boy, I'm starving.

Yeah, kind of. The hearts I've seen are little balls of light that are right here.

[and he puts his hands over his chest.]

Wonder what they'd do if someone ran out of money for food? They wouldn't let them starve to death, would they?

Light, huh...? I've never seen or heard of anything like that before. People have "inner worlds" where I'm from if you have the power to see into them, but I wasn't aware of anything like the heart you're describing.

I hope not, because that would have been me if Riku, Ven and the others weren't helping me out.

[smiles a little sheepishly, but what Juudai says really piques his curiosity.]

You mean you have an entire world inside of you?

I gotta balance my money out myself, which I wasn't really all that good at before, but I've been doing it for a while now, so I've gotten a bit better. I'd been traveling even before I got here, so I had to if I wanted to get by.

[He smiles warmly.]

I don't know, I can't very well see inside myself or anything. But I know they exist, at least among the people from my world. I don't think "world" is the right word for it, though... more like just a kind of realm where their consciousness is. It's sort of hard to describe.

I was doing a lot of traveling before here, too, but I wasn't in charge of the munny we used to buy food.

[that was Donald's job. if Juudai can imagine living off of bread for four months, then that was Sora's entire traveling adventure.]

That... kinda sounds like a heart, actually. I wonder if we just have different ways of describing what makes people who they are.
